December 07, 1935

THE NEW YORK TIMES, December 7, 1935

* Haile Selassie - Ethiopia Emperor
* Second Italo-Ethiopian War
* Bombing of Dessie - Italian invasion

The top of the front page has a two column headline: "ITALIAN AIR RAID WRECKS DESSYE PALACE, HOSPITAL; 32 KILLED, 200 WOUNDED" with subheads. (see) First report coverage continues inside with 2 related photos and small map. Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this World famous publication.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete in 38 pages, even toning, a little margin wear with a few small archival mends, generally good.

wikipedia notes: Italian planes bombed Emperor Haile Selassie's headquarters at Dessie. The American Seventh-day Adventist Hospital and a Red Cross tent were also hit by the indiscriminately dropped bombs, though the hospital was evacuated minutes before the attack. The emperor sent a vigorously worded protest to the League of Nations over the incident.
