THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, May 25, 1782
* American Revolutionary War
* Francis Marion - "The Swamp Fox"
Most of page 6 is headed: "American News - From the South Carolina Gazette" which includes a report from Charleston: "...that since the evacuation of Wilmington the loyal inhabitants...have plundered of almost all their efforts by the Rebels..." with more. Also: "...A part of our cavalry...fell in with Marion's corps on the Santee River and totally routed them. Of the Rebels about 80 were killed, wounded, & taken..." and: "...In some places where the Loyalists conceal themselves in the swamps, the neighbouring Rebels have gone to the houses of those people & entreated their wives to use their interest with their husbands & sons to come home & submit assuring them that ever thing that is past shall be forgot..." plus more.
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches, over-inking to several of the pages causes distraction in reading, but fortunately the mentioned reports are fine (see photos).
