THE NEW YORK TIMES, June 7, 1939

* New York Giants baseball
* 5 home runs HR's in 1 inning
* 1st team to achieve in MLB history

The sport's section (page 29) has a three column headline: "Giants' Seven Homers Rout Reds" with subheads that include: "ONE MARK BROKEN, TWO TIED BY GIANTS" "Five Homers in Inning Better Major Standard Set in 1894 and Help Stop Reds, 17-3" and more with box scores. (see) First report coverage on the New York Giants becoming the 1st MLB team to hit 5 home runs in 1 inning. Players who contributed to this record were: Harry Danning, Frank Demaree, Burgess Whitehead, Manny Salvo and Joe Moore. Since then, 4 teams have achieved this record as well. Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this World famous publication.

Complete in 46 pages, this is the rare rag edition that was produced on very high quality newsprint, with a high percentage of cotton & linen content, allowing the issues to remain very white & sturdy into the present.
