"After a few days' illness which, with his great age, led to anticipation of a fatal result, Professor Morse died at ten minutes before eight o'clock in the evening of Tuesday, the 2d of April... He was liberal and charitable in all his transactions, and took a paternal interest in all that belongs to the great invention he gave to the world..."
