November 10, 1860
HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, Nov. 10, 1860 This remains one of the most desired issues from this famous illustrated newspaper as the entire front page is taken up with a nice Winslow Homer illustration of Abraham Lincoln, beardless (see), captioned: "Hon. Abraham Lincoln, Born in Kentucky, Feb. 12, 1809". This is one of the first newspaper images of Lincoln, particularly of this size, before he would become President.
Also, an intriguing article headed "Death of Grizzly Adams", the fabled mountain man upon whom a television series was based. The doublepage centerfold is present but mostly damaged.
Complete in 16 pages, some discrete archival mends on pg. 2 are virtually undetectable on the front page. Nice condition.
