BALLOU'S PICTORIAL DRAWING-ROOM COMPANION, Boston, October 11, 1856 Within this issue are prints captioned: "Tufts College, Somerville, Massachusetts" "Warwick Castle" "The Village Postman" with a full back page print of: "The French Soldiers' Return From War".
The prime print is the very nice doublepage centerfold captioned: "Inauguration Of The Statue Of Franklin" in Court Square, Boston" with a related article headed: "Inauguration of the Franklin Statue, Boston".
This title was formatted much like the more popular "Harper's Weekly" being tabloid-size with several pages of prints. This title actually precedes Harper's, which did not begin publication until 1857.
Complete in 16 pages and in very good condition.
