Could there be a better front page for one of the more memorable events in World Series history? First, this is a Pittsburgh newspaper, and note the dateline of the article: "The Home Of The World Champs". Secondly, the bold banner headline announces: "BUCS ARE CHAMPS" with a great subhead: "Maz Homer Wins, 10-9", the event which ended the game. Third, the front page has the notable photo showing Bill Mazeroski crossing home plate with fans about to mob him (see).
Of significance is that the top of the front page is autographed by Bill Mazeroski (see). Although there are many baseballs signed by him it is uncommon to find this notable newspaper with his autograph.
NOTE: this is the "Souvenir Edition" as noted in the upper right, being a "Reissue" from some years later. It is complete in four sections and is in great condition.
