THE ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, Georgia, March 5, 1897 The front page carries a three-line, two-column headline "WILLIAM M'KINLEY, PLEDGED TO BRING PROSPERITY, WAS SWORN IN YESTERDAY AS PRESIDENT" with subhead "Ceremony Was One Befitting in Every Way the Dignified Position Which the Ohioan Has Reached as the Pinnacle of His Highest Hopes -- Mrs. McKinley Was Present." and more. There are many illustrations including "President McKinley Taking the Oath of Office" and a very large Uncle Sam political satire. Additional articles are on the front page and continue inside and include the text to the inaugural speech.
