* Don Larsen's famous perfect game
* New York Yankees World Series

The upper left of the front page reports the perfect game thrown by Don Larsen in the 1956 World Series, the headline announcing: "Larsen Has Perfect Game As Yankees Triumph, 2-0" with subheads: "Big Pitcher Makes Baseball History With Brilliant World Series Victory Over Brooklyn; New York Takes One-Game Lead; Mantle Hits Key Homer". The report of the game begins: "Don Larsen, a rugged...right handed pitcher of solid dimensions climbed the pinnacle of pitching greatness--and perfection--in Yankee Stadium today."
The front page also features the famous photo of Larsen hugging Yogi Berra after he struck out Dale Mitchell for the final out of the game. The box score is headed: "Grand Larceny". The coverage continues inside with additional reports & several photos, plus the "Composite Box Score" of the first five games. Great to have this report on the front page, especially with the famous photo.
