November 17, 1855

STATE GAZETTE, "Seat of Government", Austin, Texas, Nov. 17, 1855 We rarely are able to offer newspapers from Texas from before the Civil War. This is one. The front page has two columns on the: "True History of the Outrages And Riots in Louisville on Aug. 6th, 1855". This was the "Bloody Monday" riot (see hyperlink for much more). Much other news of the day inside including much on politics.
Four pages, large folio size, a hole at the very center does not affect noted content, minor loss at portions of the spine. Folder size noted is for the issue folded in half.
