THE NEW YORK TIMES, February 22, 1950

* 1st mention of "Marilyn Monroe"
* Premier of Walt Disney's Cinderella

This 50 page newspaper has a 12 x 6 inch advertisement on page 33 for the opening day showing of the famous Walt Disney animated cartoon movie 'Cinderella'. With movies at that time usually released 1st in New York City, this could very well be the very 1st advertisement for this movie classic in any newspaper. (see photos) Nice edition for any Walt Disney collector.
Also of significance is a discrete but first mention of the famed Marilyn Monroe. Page 34 under "Metro Names Director" is the text: "...and Marilyn Monroe has joined the cast of 'Right Cross', at the studio", in which she had a small brief role. This is actually the very 1st time her "Marilyn Monroe" name was used in a New York Times.
Other news of the day throughout with other interesting ads as well. Large cutout on page 27/28 (unrelated), a little margin wear, generally nice.
