ST. LOUIS GLOBE-DEMOCRAT, Missouri, August 12, 1877
* Battle of the Big Hole - Montana (1st report)
* Nez Perce Indians - Native American
* Chief Joseph - Looking Glass
This uncommon Midwestern title has news of the day with many advertisements. The front page has an article headed: "SLAIN BY SAVAGES" "The Custer Massacre Duplicated in Montana" "A Terrible Fight with the Nez Perces" "Half of Gibbon's Command Slaughered" "Big Hole Pass the Scene of the Battle" and more. (see)
This issue is not fragile as newsprint back then was made of cotton and linen rags, allowing them to remain very pliable and easy to handle. Complete in 8 pages, light damp staining and hole within mentioned headings causes minor text loss (see), generally nice.
