The front page has a report of the death of Queen Anne in an item datelined from the Hague: "...we received by an express the melancholy news of the dangerous indisposition of her Britannick Majesty, and since that an account of her decease on Sunday morning last; which has deeply affected the generality of people here with grief...". Also reports announcing the new King, from Plymouth: "Yesterday his Majesty was proclaim'd here with the usual solemnity & great rejoycings were made on that occasion." and from Harwich: "Yesterday King George was proclaim'd here, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, to the great joy of all people..." with several more similar announcements (see).
A single sheet issue, 9 1/2 by 14 inches, two handsome engravings in the masthead, great condition.
