Item # 612980

February 04, 1873

THE EVANSVILLE JOURNAL, Indiana, February 4, 1873

* Conshohocken PA Pennsylvania
* Factory - boilers explosion disaster

This uncommon Midwestern title has news of the day with many advertisements. The front page has an article headed: "Terrific Boiler Explosion" "Four Immense Boilers Scatter Shafts Of Destruction And Bolts Of Death" "Buildings Shattered and Men Blown to Atoms" and more.
This issue is not fragile as newsprint back then was made of cotton and linen rags, allowing them to remain very pliable and easy to handle. Complete in 4 pages, nice condition.
