LUCIFER, THE LIGHT-BEARER, Chicago, June 5, 1896  A rather unusual title, an explanation of this newspaper's name appears on pg. 2 stating, in part: "The name Lucifer means Light-Bringing or Light-Bearing and the paper that has adopted this name stands For Light against Darkness, For Reason against Superstition, For Science against Tradition...", plus mention that:  "Lucifer's specialty is Sexology, or Sexological Science, believing this to be the Most Important of all Sciences..."  (see)
Includes various topical reports, commentary and ads including: "Definition of Love" "The Nude Advertisements" "Patriotism Exposed" & "The Utility of Beauty". Also has an engraving in the masthead.
Four pages, measures 20 by 13 inches, archival mends to several margin tears, bit of lite fold foxing on the ftpg.
