Page 3 has a very notable article headed: " 'Billy the Kid' Shot Dead" taken from the Las Vegas (N.M.) Gazette, noting; "...positive information that 'Billy, the Kid,' the notorious murderer and outlaw who for several years has been the terror of New Mexico cattle men, was killed by Pat Garrett, Sheriff of Lincoln county on the 14th. Garrett has been on the trail for some time...overhauled him in a cabin at Fort Sumner and shot him dead..." (see).
Also noteworthy on page 3: "Surrender of Sitting Bull" (see).
Eight pages, the lower left corner of all leaves is damaged with loss (see), plus some tape mends near the top with a few small holes. Neither disfigurement is remotely close to either of the noted reports. Offered at dramatically less than the normal price. Nice to have these reports in a newspaper from the West.
