* "The Day the Music Died"
* Death of rock & roll stars Buddy Holly, the "Big Bopper" and Richie Valens
* Early report, the day it happened - front page report
The death of these legendary names from the early rock and roll era is not commonly found in period newspapers, unfortunately. And when found the reports are typically brief. This issue has the report on the front page with a one column-wide report headed: "3 Rock 'n' Roll Singers Killed", the report noting in part: "Three nationally known teenage rock 'n roll singers...were killed early today...The singers were identified as Buddy Holly, 22, Richie Valens, 21, and J. P. Richardson, known professionally as the 'Big Bopper'..." with a bit more (see photos).
Complete in 14 pages, small binding holes at the blank spine margin, generally very nice condition.
