February 02, 1861
LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED NEWSPAPER, New York, Feb. 2, 1861 Perhaps the best print is the back page political cartoon captioned: "A Job For the New Cabinet Maker." showing a beardless Abraham Lincoln using "union glue" to patch the bap between the "South" and "North" (see).
Other prints include a front page of: "Major Robert Anderson, in Command of Fort Sumpter, Charleston Harbor" "Secession in Yale College--The Northern Students Breaking in the Door of the Tower in Alumni Hall..." "Hon. Edmund Ruffin of Virginia" and 3 prints at Fort Moultrie in Charleston Harbor.
Sixteen pages, never bound nor trimmed so it folds out to one large sheet, very nice, clean condition.
Category: Pre-Civil War
