This issue includes considerable details regarding the aftermath of the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse. It includes the following headlines: "GRANT'S MARCH", "HIGHLY ENCOURAGING PROGRESS" "The Rebels Driven Across the North Anna" "Bloody Repulse Of The Enemy" "Many Prisoners Captured" and much more. This was considered one of the more noteworthy battles in Grant's 1864 Overland Campaign. A nice piece of history from this well-known newspaper.
