Washington, the violent leaders of the rebellion at Boston were straining every nerve to stir up the inhabitants...to undertake another expedition against Penobscot, but it proved so fruitless..." with more, including mention of Ben Franklin..
Inside has half a page taken up with: "Particulars Relative to the Arrival & Treatment of the Admiralty of Mr. Henry Laurens, late President of the American Congress" at London (see for beginning). Laurens was captured by the British when serving as Ambassador to the Netherlands and spent time in the Tower of London. He has the dubious distinction of being the only American to ever be imprisoned in the Tower of London.
