Interesting California Gold Rush item...

Item # 591190

September 10, 1853

OLIVE BRANCH, Boston, Massachusetts, Sept. 10, 1853

* California gold rush

Page 2 has: "A California City Daguerreotyped in its Directory" which is an interesting, descriptive piece from the Gold Rush era, noting near the beginning: "We have received...'The Stockton Directory & Emigrant's Guide to the Southern Mines'...We confess that we looked through it with much pleasure. It is California all over; and redolent of gold dust and brandy, Colt's revolvers, restaurants, long-handled shovels, free lunches, and drafts on the east..." with much more.
Four pages, wear at folds causes some small tears or holes, nothing affecting the mentioned report. Never bound nor trimmed.
