NEW YORK HERALD, Nov. 8, 1865 

* Andersonville Prison - Camp Sumter - Georgia
* Henry Wirz sentenced to death - hanging


The top of page 5 has: "Washington" "The Sentence of Wirz Approved by the President and Communicated to the Prisoner" "He Is to be Hanged on Friday Next" "Demeanor Of The Condemned" and a bit more. Henry Wirz was the infamous warden of the Confederate prison camp at Andersonville, accused of horrendous atrocities committed against northern prisoners of war.
Other Reconstruction news as well including: "The Trial of Jeff Davis. Complete in 8 pages, very nice condition.
