Page 3 has a relatively small article headed: "Execution At Florence--The Notorious 'Curly Bill' Shot" with the report noting that: "...also 'Curly Bill', the notorious cow boy who killed Marshall while [White] at Tombstone recently & who captured a church at Charleston with his gang to make the clergyman dance before the congregation, and raided several towns in the vicinity at different times, was shot and mortally wounded at Gatesville [Galeyville] yesterday by Jim Wallace, one of his comrades. Wallace was released on the ground of self-defense." (see photos) In reality the wound was not deadly, with the details of the event noted in the hyperlink. His real name was William Brocius, who had an interesting history in Tombstone as well as having associations with the likes of Johnny Ringo Wyatt Earp (who killed Curly Bill in 1882) & his brothers (see the hyperlink).
Four pages, discrete archival mends across the central fold of each leaf causing no loss, and some archival mends at the spine. It is rare to find period mentions of Curly Bill and his exploits.
