Page 3 contains a fascinating report on fugitive slave Charles Nalle, who was arrested in Troy, New York, under the controversial Fugitive Slave Law, only to be rescued  by the famed Harriet Tubman. His story garnered considerable attention by the national press and sympathy among northern abolitionists. See the hyperlink for more on the Charles Nalle case.
The article is headed: "The Slave Rescue at Troy" with much reporting on the compelling story. Harriet Tubman is not mentioned by name however the hyperlink reports her considerable involvement. Page 5 has reports which have come in: "Ten Days Later From California" "Arrival of the Overland Pony Express" with additional one column heads, and text beginning: "The California Pony Express, due here on Friday, the 27th inst., did not arrive until this noon, owing to the time of leaving the other side being changed..." with more.
Complete in 8 pages, a small hole near the top of the first two leaves does not affect either report, in very nice condition.
