May 25, 1787

THE MASSACHUSETTS GAZETTE, Boston, May 25, 1787  The front page has a report headed "Philadelphia" which includes: "Yesterday evening came to this city, his Excellency General Washington, one of the delegates from the state of Virginia to the Federal Convention. His arrival was announced by a salute..." with a bit more (see). Other items inside make reference to the Constitutional Convention (see photos), but perhaps the best content is the lengthy report headed: "Sentence Of Death" which takes nearly two-thirds of page 2. This is the official report of the death sentence for treason pronounced upon six men for their involvement in the Shays' Rebellion (see for beginning).
Four pages, never-trimmed margins, nice condition.
