* Alexander Hamilton - Aaron Burr duel
* President Thomas Jefferson

Page 2 has a report headed: "Duel" with the text beginning: "DIED, at New-York, on the afternoon of the 12th inst. General ALEXANDER HAMILTON, of a wound which he received on the morning of the preceding day, in a duel with Col. Burr. never was a death more sincerely and justly lamented; and his loss will be sensibly felt throughout the United States..."  with more (see). Further on are more details including: "...On the evening previous to his death, he partook of the Sacrament, expressed his faith in the Christian Religion, and his hopes of salvation. He had made his will on Saturday. When he went out with Col. Burr, he told him his abhorrence of dueling; that his courage had never been doubted, and that it was his determination not to fire; -- but that if it would give him any satisfaction, he was perfectly willing to stand as a mark for him. He accordingly fired; and HAMILTON fell! -- on the very spot that two years before had been stained with the blood of his son!". And this is followed by a related report beginning: "We learn that the challenge was given by Col. Burr for some disrespectful expressions which fell from general Hamilton during the late election...generally stated that Hamilton did not fire, tho' we have seen accounts affirming that he did. His antagonist's ball entered just above the hip & passed  to the spine...rendering a cure impossible.." with a bit more (see).
