THE OAKLAND DAILY TIMES, Oakland, California, March 6, 1880  The front page carries a report "The Discovery of Gold - An Interesting Account From One Who Was in California at the Time". "Albert N. Hatch, of Edgemont, Pa., writes the following to The Philadelphia Press: 'In looking over my note-book the other day, I came across something relating to the discover of gold in California which I thought might interest your readers...'"  This issue also contains several articles pertaining to the upcoming mayoral election in which Mr. Babcock was running. Other news and advertisements, some of which are illustrated, are within.

This is complete in four pages, with the spine containing binding holes, otherwise in very nice condition.
