THE PARSONS SUN, Parsons, Kansas, June 12, 1962 This 12 page newspaper has a four column headline on the front page: "Three Gone from Alcatraz Cells, May Have Escaped" with caption: "They Would Be First" and related photo & map.
This was the last escape from Alcatraz and it would be closed shortly thereafter, and it was also the escape upon which the Clint Eastwood movie "Escape From Alcatraz" was based.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. A few small binding holes along the spine, otherwise in good condition.
