SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN, New York, June 6, 1891 The front page has six illustrations: "Great Tower Of The City Hall, Philadelphia--Total Height, 547 Feet." One of the illustrations shows the statue of Penn which was place on top of the tower on City Hall. This has a report inside. Note: For many years City Hall (with the Penn statue) was the tallest structure in Philadelphia due to a certain law. Other articles are: Field Magnet of the Great Dynamo of the Aluminum Industry; The U.S. Cruiser Charleston; The Chilean Insurgent Transport Steamer Itata; Launching Torpedoes; and others and advertisements.
This is complete in 16 pages, contains a non-archival mend on the lower area of the front page as well as some additional mends within the issue; a hole approximately 1 by .25 inch on an inside page. See photos for details.
