1929 Fritz von Opel.... early rockets.....

Item # 578019

October 12, 1929

THE NEW YORK TIMES, October 12, 1929

* Fritz von Opel
* Early rockets - rocketry

This 100+ page newspaper has three column headlines on page 4XX (inside, near back): "ROCKET MOTOR POINTS WAY TO REACH MOON", "Von Opel's Meteoric Flight Renews the Hope of One Day Penetrating space Beyond the Ozone", with smaller subheads and three related photos. Lengthy supporting text as well.

Other news of the day throughout. Light browning with little margin wear and and a few inside, unrelated page clippings cut out, otherwise good. Should be handled with care.

source: wikipedia: Fritz Adam Hermann Opel, since 1918 von Opel (4 May 1899 - 8 April 1971), was the only child of Wilhelm von Opel, and a grandson of Adam Opel, founder of the Opel Company. He is remembered mostly for his spectacular demonstrations of rocket propulsion that earned him the nickname "Rocket Fritz".
