THE SHAMROCK, OR HIBERNIAN CHRONICLE, New York, Aug. 8, 1812

* Rare Irish American title
* Great masthead engraving (eagle)

Most certainly a very rare title published for the Irish community in the New York area, well before the majority of Irish immigrants would come to American in the mid-19th century. Ornate masthead with a large engraving (see). Although there is news with an Irish theme there is other more general news as well. The entire ftpg. has items under the heading: "Ireland", carrying over to page 2. Other news inside--including some on the War of 1812--is not necessarily related to Irish events or interests.
Four pages, some staining not affecting readability, otherwise rather nice.
