Part-printed & part-handwritten document from Lycoming County, Pennsylvania dated 1802, concerning a dispute for a portion of land in the northern part of the state, noting that a certain person did "...take possession of, enter, intrude, and settle, on a certain tract of land...To the evil example of all others..." in Tyoga township (see photo). Signed at the bottom by Joseph McKean, Attorney General.
This document likely relates to the "Connecticut Claim Jumpers" involved in the Pennamite-Yankee War over disputed land in Northern Pennsylvania. Measures. 8 by 13 inches, foxing at some folds, generally nice.
