July 06, 1784

THE LONDON GAZETTE, England, July 3, 1784  The ftpg. is taken up with text concerning the end of the Revolutionary War, including: "By the KING, A PROCLAMATION" which begins: "Whereas Definitive Treaties of Peace & Friendship between Us, the States General of the United Provinces, and the United States of America, have been concluded at Paris & the Ratifications thereof duly exchanged...command, that the same be published throughout all our dominions..." with more (see). This is followed by: "By the KING, A PROCLAMATION, For a Publick Thanksgiving" which begins: "Whereas it has pleased Almighty God in His Great Goodness to put an end to the late bloody, extended, and expensive war in which we were engaged...do call for publick & solemn acknowledgments...that a general Thanksgiving to Almighty God for these his mercies he observed..." and more. This is then followed by yet another "Proclamation" by the King which is similarly worded.  Great to have these official documents on the front page of this significant London newspaper which was essentially the mouthpiece of the Royal Court.
Complete in 8 pages, 7 by 12 inches, very nice condition.
