HARPER'S WEEKLY, New York, July 16, 1864 Very nice full ftpg. illustration of Ulysses S. Grant taken from a famous photo by renowned Civil War photographer Mathew Brady, captioned: "Lieutenant Grant At His Headquarters."
Very fine and dramatic tipped-in dblpgctrfld: "Our Flag" is by Thomas Nast and shows 10 vignettes with the flag.
Nice fullpg: "Rebel Deserters Coming Within Union Lines." Several other war-related illustrations throughout the issue.
Sixteen pages, has very small, scattered ink spots throughout, ftpg. has a bit of lite staining in the lower right corner.
