November 25, 1848

NEW YORK DAILY TRIBUNE, Nov. 25, 1848  Fully half of the front page is taken up with: "M.M. Noah's Address - Delivered at the Hebrew Synagogue in Crosby St. on Thanksgiving Day, to Aid in the Erection of the Temple at Jerusalem".
Mordecai Manuel Noah was a Jewish leader in America in the first half of the 19th century. In 1820 he tried to establish a Jewish homeland at Grand Island in the Niagara River to be called Ararat. Photos show just the beginning & end of the lengthy address.
Complete in 4 pages, bit of very light foxing, generally very nice.
