THE NEW YORK HERALD, August 27, 1841 The noteworthy content within this issue is a page 2 lengthy account regarding the Jewish congregation is Philadelphia seeking to establish a Hebrew State within the United States. The article eludes to the fact that this would be done in an attempt to hasten the return of the Messiah. Also noted is this was not the first attempt. The text of an 1801 Circular is included to substantiate this, along with the description of Mordecai Manuel Noah's 1825 attempt, which includes details. The issue is complete in 4 pages and is in very good condition.
