A page 2 report from St. Louis says: "Col. Cooper's party have returned from their commercial enterprise to Santa Fe....they found no difficulty in traversing the wilderness with their wagons which they drove into Santa Fe....The people of Santa Fe expressed a desire to have commercial connexions with the United States....Some of the party joined a war party against the Camande Indians [sic]....Communications have already been opened between Missouri, and the Indians of the Rocky Mountains..."
