EVENING POST, New York, October 26, 1833

Page 2 has report:

* "Valley Of The Maumee.-- We are informed that the number of emigrants who have settled on the rich lands along the Maumee river...is unprecedentedly great.

We learn by a gentlemen from Vistula, M.T. (a town near the mouth of the Maumee) that the Buffalo and Detroit steamboats...call at that place, and land great numbers of passengers, and a considerable amount of merchandize....", plus mention of a regular line of steamboats between Vistula and Buffalo for "next Spring", as well as the construction of a steamboat at Mt. Clements "...intended to ply between Vistula and Ft. Wayne...". According to an internet source Vistula would merge with Port Lawrence in 1833 to become Toledo.
