Background Information: Timothy Dwight (May 14, 1752January 11, 1817) was an American Congregationalist minister, theologian, educator, and author. He was the eighth president of Yale College, from 1795 to 1817. He matriculated at Yale College at age 13, and received honorary degrees from Princeton University in 1787 and Harvard University in 1810. He served as President of Yale College from 1795 to 1817.
