BOSTON RECORDER AND TELEGRAPH, May 19, 1826 A back page report under Washington College says this college at Hartford, Conn. "...though in its infancy, and...without state patronage, is in a flourishing condition. The buildings already completed, are planned and executed in fine taste." A few more details about the campus, plus word that 50 students are enrolled and that "...a President, and three professors...manage its concerns."
