November 09, 1864

THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, Nov. 9, 1864 On the front page at the top of the first column are headlines announcing the victory of Abraham Lincoln in the election of 1864. Beneath the head The Union Pyramid and stacked in the shape of a pyramid are the names of the states that voted for Lincoln, plus an additional head: Its Electoral Vote 206. Most of the front page has election returns from Pennsylvania and several other states. This is the tri-weekly edition of the Inquirer, meaning within its 8 pages is a second front page with a full-sized masthead, plus additional headlines and reports pertaining to the election. Small binding holes in the left margin, with one close to the Lincoln And Johnson !!! headline, otherwise the issue is in very good, uncut condition.
