THE NEWPORT HERALD, Rhode Island, Dec. 25, 1788 (Note: This item has sold, but we do have a similar item at #209523) It is exceedingly difficult to find Newport newspapers from the 18th century. This issue is dated Christmas Day. Complete in 4 pgs. with various news reports from London as well as items datelined New York, Springfield, Portsmouth, Albany, Salem, Boston, Newport, Providence, Philadelphia, and Augusta. Light, even foxing throughout, complete in 4 pages, very nice condition with large lettering in the masthead.
