THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Oct. 31, 1765 Page 2 has a few small
items including: "We are informed that William Coxe has sent a
resignation of the Stamp Office for New Jersey, to the Lords
Commissioners of the Treasury, and assigned his reasons." and
"We hear from New York that Mess. McEvers and Rivington, who were appointed Stamp masters, have declined acting in that office."
and another page has lengthier text under the heading "America"
including a "Proclamation" concerning taxes in the island of Grenada,
but then also reports from Charles Town concerning trouble wiith the
Indians, and a report from Pennsylvania concerning Indian troubles as
well. You get the complete 8 page issue, some rubbing to the front leaf
only causing a small wear hole, otherwise in very nice condition.
