SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN magazine, dated April 1, 1882. This issue contains an article on an inside page which is headed: "Floating Soap" which which goes on to detail how Procter & Gamble created this new soap, which floats, and also how it got its name of "Ivory" (not shown in image below). If an image is required, please let us know).  Truly a terrific & rare issue of this famous science magazine on the creation of one of the most popular soaps of all time! This issue has additional invention news and illustrations including the front page illustration headed: "Compound Tandem Engines Of Steamship Parisian" with related text, and an illustration and text related to "A New Fire Escape". You get the complete 16 page issue which is in very nice condition, save for the rough left spine as shown in the image.
