THE OHIO SPY, Springfield, December, 1877  This is a product of the amateur press, an avocation for amateur printers which was popular in the latter part of the 19th century. They were typically small in size and short-lived.
Four pages, 7 1/4 by 10 1/4 inches, very nice condition.

DAILY GRAPHIC, N.Y., Dec. 28, 1877 Inside has a full page report: "Scroll-Sawing" "Rapid Development Of a Beautiful Art--Some Practical Suggestions For The Amateur". Has several illustration examples of this artwork. Has an archival mend at the bottom of the second and third leaf.

NEW YORK TRIBUNE, Dec. 29, 1877  The ftpg. has a column wide map headed: "El Paso and The Rio Grande" with text, including: "...shows the scene of operations in El Paso County, Texas, and the course of the Rio Grande as far as Laredo...The  cattle raids...were made upon the stock ranches at least 150 miles below Laredo...".
Eight pages, slightly browned, good condition.

MAINLAND GUARDIAN, New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, 1878  A quite uncommon title from this town in British Columbia, with various news and literary items of the day and a wealth of ads a well, several of which are illustrated.

This is a curious, very small newspaper of 4 pages--one of the more unusual titles in our inventory. Note that the photo is "generic" and the issue you get will not have these specific photos or be of this specific date-but will have the format as shown. Nice condition. Tiny binding holes in margin. DAILY EVENING HERALD, Stockton, California, 1878. Here is a very nice, four page issue of this Old West newspaper with various news reports from this fascinating period in American history. Nice condition with a wealth of ads as well.  The image shown is a representation of the look and condition of this title, but the actual issue sent may be different.  It will be of equaal condition as the one shown.

THE TWO REPUBLICS, City of Mexico, Jan. 19, 1878  An interesting and unusual newspaper printed almost entirely in English. The title would suggest it was printed in Mexico but for a primarily American readership. Some of the content relates to Mexican events as well. The back page is almost entirely taken up with ads.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, tiny hole within masthead, generally very nice.
