LOS ANGELES TIMES, Sept. 5, 2005

* Kyle Busch's very 1st NASCAR Cup series victory
* Sony HD 500 at California Speedway - racing - race

The top of the front page of the sport's section has a headline that reads: "The Kid Gives It His All" with subhead, results and photo of Busch celebrating his 1st NASCAR Nextel Cup Series victory. (see images)  Coverage continues inside with a few more related photos and reports.
Nice to have in this L.A. publication which was near the California Speedway.
I suspect this to be an extremely rare item because there was really no reason to save it at the time.
Complete 1st and sport's sections only with a total 40 pages, a few very light creases from the printing press on the front page of the sport's section, very nice condition.

Background: Kyle Busch’s breakthrough victory in the Sony HD 500 at California Speedway on September 4, 2005, stands as a monumental shift in NASCAR history, signaling the arrival of a new generation of talent and cementing his status as a future legend. Driving the No. 5 Carquest Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, the 20-year-old Busch launched from a 25th-place starting position to completely dominate the latter half of the race, leading a race-high 95 of the 254 laps. Even a late debris caution that forced an green-white-checkered overtime finish couldn't rattle the young driver, who expertly executed the final restart to beat veteran Greg Biffle to the line by 0.554 seconds. By doing so, Busch shattered the record for the youngest winner in modern NASCAR Cup Series history—a record previously held by Donald Thomas since 1952—at 20 years, 4 months, and 2 days old. Beyond the immediate redemption of winning at the very track where NASCAR had barred him from competing in a Truck Series race two years prior due to underage sponsorship restrictions, this triumph secured his 2005 Rookie of the Year honors and served as the definitive launchpad for a legendary career that would eventually yield multiple Cup Series championships and place him among the winningest drivers in stock car racing history.
