THE PENNSYLVANIA CHRONICLE & UNIVERSAL ADVERTISER, Philadelphia, Nov. 2, 1767 Page 2 has a curious report: "...Last Thursday evening Mr. Richard Bache, of this City, merchant, was married to Miss Sally Franklin, the only daughter of the celebrated Doctor Franklin, a young lady of distinguished merit...The next day all the shipping in the harbour displayed their colours on the happy occasion."
