PENNSYLVANIA PACKET & DAILY ADVERTISER, Philadelphia, Oct. 7, 1788  The entire front page is filled with ads, including one for: "Isaac Franks, Broker" with further details. Franks was a noted Jewish financier.
Pages 2 & 3 have a letter reflecting upon the future prospects of this new republic. It begins: "America to me appears at present like a vessel of cyder newly from the press; it has not yet sufficiently fermented to produce a clear homogenous, palatable body, which time only can effect..." with more.
Page 3 has a report beginning: "A correspondent observes with great pleasure, that the American ladies begin to assume a proper degree of independence. Hitherto their fashions have been dictated by the belles of Paris and London...".
Four pages, never-trimmed margins, great condition.
