THE ORACLE OF THE DAY, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, August 1, 1795  This is a quite scarce 18th century American title as it existed only until 1799 and rarely comes on the market. We suspect the circulation was somewhat limited.
Much of this issue is taken up with various discussions concerning the controversial Jay Treaty which was recently enacted with England. The many photos show only portions, some discussion against it and others in favor of it.
Four pages, slightly close-trimmed at the bottom of pages 3 & 4 affect the last line however no effect to mentioned content. Otherwise spotted foxing, good condition.
