Very uncommon 18th century title... Peace between France & Prussia...
Item # 711190
February 14, 1795
THE ORACLE OF THE DAY, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Feb. 14, 1795 This is a quite scarce 18th century American title as it existed only until 1799 and rarely comes on the market. We suspect the circulation was somewhat limited.
Most of the front page is taken up with: "Congressional Debates -- House of Representatives". A page 3 letter begins: "In the name of Heaven! Mr. Davis, is there any rebellion or disorder within the United States at this time?...". Also a letter from William Penrose who was a captive in Algiers for nearly a year.
Four pages, a bit irregular at the top margin affects some top line words, light damp staining at the top, otherwise nice condition.
